Overview

We’re looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Front-End Developer to join our growing development team. This is an opportunity to help shape and build world-class websites for ambitious brands across industries like CPG, finance, retail, and healthcare.

In this role, you’ll focus on building beautiful, performant, and maintainable websites—primarily in Shopify, Shopify Plus, and WordPress. You’ll work closely with our UI designers, strategists, and fellow developers to bring designs to life with clean, scalable code.

You should be fluent in modern HTML, CSS, and JavaScript, and comfortable building custom themes, troubleshooting issues, and optimizing performance. Whether it’s launching a new ecommerce site or improving a client’s digital experience, you bring thoughtfulness, curiosity, and precision to every project.

What You’ll Do

As a Front-End Developer at Anchour, you’ll help craft visually striking, high-performing websites that drive results for ambitious brands. From full custom builds to continuous improvement work, you’ll turn strategy and design into responsive, accessible, and scalable front-end experiences.

You’ll collaborate closely with designers, strategists, and other developers to push quality and performance across every layer of the front end—primarily in Shopify and WordPress, with a focus on clean code, great UX, and long-term maintainability.

  • Build modern, mobile-first websites using HTML, CSS, and JavaScript based on Figma designs, using Tailwind and React.
  • Develop and customize Shopify themes using Liquid, metafields, and JSON templates
  • Extend and maintain WordPress sites using Gutenberg and Advanced Custom Fields, including custom block development with React.
  • Troubleshoot bugs, resolve theme/plugin issues, and ensure cross-browser consistency
  • Optimize for performance, accessibility (WCAG 2.1 AA), and SEO readiness
  • Collaborate with internal teams and clients to scope enhancements, ship new features, and proactively improve site experience
  • Participate in code reviews and contribute to shared standards, libraries, and workflow improvements
  • Help evolve our front-end practices to stay efficient, modern, and scalable

    What We’d Like To See

    We’re looking for a developer with 3+ years of front-end experience—someone who’s confident in their skills, collaborative in their approach, and eager to ship great work with a tight-knit team. You don’t need to know everything, but you should bring strong fundamentals, curiosity, and a drive to keep improving.

    • 3+ years of experience in front-end development
    • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript (ES6+)
    • Experience developing responsive, accessible websites that meet WCAG 2.1 AA standards
    • Comfortable working in Git-based workflows (branching, merging, rebasing); CLI or GUI
    • Solid understanding of Shopify theming and Liquid templating
    • Experience building and extending WordPress themes using Gutenberg and Advanced Custom Fields
    • Experience with TailwindCSS and component-based workflows
    • Comfort using command-line tools to manage local dev environments and build tools
    • A problem-solving mindset and a strong eye for UX details
    • Experience with Shopify Plus (scripts, checkout customizations, metafields, etc.)
    • Experience building or customizing WordPress plugins
    • Familiarity with React, Vue, or Alpine.js and integrating them into site experiences
    • Exposure to headless architectures a plus (e.g. Hydrogen, Headless WP)
    • Experience with automated testing frameworks (unit, integration, acceptance)
